Friends of the Friends

We’re Building a Community of Park Supporters

Friends of our public lands

Mass Parks for All (MPA) honors the commitment of those who have named themselves friends of parks and other public spaces.

The advocates for our parks, parkways, beaches, pedestrian trails, bike trails, pools, splash decks, athletic fields, and playgrounds are volunteers, nonprofit organizations and retired parks employees who have a passion for our shared public spaces.

You deserve our support.

MPA’s Friends of the Friends is a group for you.

We offer a place for you to learn about and connect with other park supporters in our state, and where you can learn about open space funding. Learn how the operating and capital budgets for the Department of Conservation and Recreation get developed and approved. This includes the upcoming environmental bond bill, which will give DCR bonding capacity for the next five years, and fund many municipal park projects.

Thank you for being a friend

We are here to support the organizations supporting our open spaces, public lands, parkways and other public facilities such as skating rinks, playgrounds and playing fields.

We will help you advocate for your park. In doing so we will create:

  • Understanding of state and federal funding for open space

  • Statewide zoom summits on funding issues

  • Park and friends group success stories you can share

  • How-to guides

  • Day-on-the-Hill advocacy at the State House

Public Lands near you

Mass Parks For All has vetted 200 organizations that are stewards of our public lands. They are big and small and have many different missions, but they all have a love of the lands held in trust for all of us.

Find your park and make friends.

Every person in the Commonwealth deserves adequately staffed, clean, safe, accessible, and well-maintained parks that provide recreational opportunities for all.
